Unit 3 – prep work: breaking down the script – Deotto Alessandra

After deciding which script to focus on, I started my prep work. The first phase consists of reading the script accurately and putting down some notes on what is expected. Using numbers, I tried to identify the major scenes I would have to draw. For now, I have identified 57, but there are going to be more as I break down the script more in the thumbnailing phase and I start to see how the various panels fit together. Using simple squares, I did a sort of pre-thumbnail to start visualising a bit. They are very tricky to understand, and that is why I called them pre-thumbnails. When I needed I also wrote some notes on the side.
