Deotto Alessandra – ADVFX 2024-2027

This week, we had the pleasure of meeting the actors we are going to work with, as well as the directors. The actors went through the first Script Reading. We had the chance to speak for a bit with some of our colleagues about preferences, style, fears and expectations for the project. We were divided into groups and had the chance to speak with some of them, and it was nice to see how positive we all were. We, of course, don’t have any information about how work will be divided but besides the initial shyness, we were all pretty collaborative.

After a while we were asked to draw some of them for 10-15 minutes in order to gather some materials.

While working in groups, we were also asked to come up with a small sentence to summarize the plot :

” A naive but determined girl, battling with grief, embarks on a journey through a dreamlike realm to retrieve the soul of her lost pet, leading her to discover newfound acceptance and growth. ”

During this meeting i had the chance to speak with the Scriptwriter- Director and i asked her how she envisioned the atmosphere . She described a Tim Burton kind of atmosphere with a dark and dreamy allure to it. I took notes in order to direct my research later.

At the endof the meeting we started gathering ideas with some Brainstorming trying to give ourselves references and ideas on the general atmosphere, the mood, the goals and development of the plot.
